Why people pick it

What you get

01

Clear all the way through, not just on top

All three layers are transparent: the case, the keycaps and the switches themselves. The lighting does not stop at opaque plastic — it travels through the whole key, and the photos show both the LED and the spring inside the switch. The satellite stabilisers on the long keys are clear polycarbonate too, so the spacebar and Enter do not sit as dark patches in the pattern. In a dark room the board reads more like a desk lamp than an input device.

02

A screen and a wheel with two modes

The screen in the top-right corner keeps the time, the remaining charge and the current connection mode in view, and its menu selects the system, the language, the brightness, the speed, and the lighting effect and colour. The wheel beside it works in two modes: by default it drives the screen, and Fn plus a press of the wheel switches it to volume. You can tell which mode is active from the wheel’s own light — it breathes in screen mode and stays steady in volume mode. Fn + Esc returns everything to the defaults.

03

Gasket, PORON and PET — what it does for the sound

A clear plastic shell rings on its own, so AULA packed several layers inside: a PORON pad directly under the switches, PET acoustic sheets, another PORON layer and a silicone pad at the bottom. The PCB is slotted around each key, which makes the press a little more giving. Together with the gasket mount this removes the hollow echo that usually gives a fully transparent case away — the sound comes out lower and more contained.

8,000 mAh — an unusual capacity for a keyboard

An 8,000 mAh battery is well above what wireless keyboards usually carry. By AULA’s lab measurements that is about 76 hours with the lighting off and about 32 hours with it on; at eight hours of use a day the maker translates this into roughly ten days and four days respectively. These are lab figures and real results depend on brightness and the connection mode, but the order of magnitude means charging far less often than once a week.

On AULA’s site it is called the F-NB98

A small but useful detail for anyone who checks the specs before buying: in the manufacturer’s catalogue this keyboard is listed as the AULA F-NB98 Tri-Mode Mechanical Keyboard. What ships is the same on both sides — 94 keys, a clear case, Snow Smoke switches, a screen and a wheel. If you go looking for official material or the manual, search for F-NB98; the maker’s page is harder to find under NB98 alone.

Questions

The short answers.

When is delivery expected?

Delivery is expected on 18 November 2026. A pre-order locks the price and your place in the batch; GEEKSHOP confirms the exact date.

Why is this model called the F-NB98 on AULA’s site?

It is the same keyboard. The supplier price list and our catalogue call it the NB98, while the manufacturer’s official page is titled AULA F-NB98 Tri-Mode Mechanical Keyboard — AULA prefixes the number with an F, as it does across the F75, F87 and F99 line. The specifications match: 94 keys, a clear case, a gasket mount, Snow Smoke switches, a screen and a wheel. Look for official material under F-NB98.

Which switches are fitted, and how heavy are they?

They are Snow Smoke switches — linear, made of POM, factory-lubricated, with a clear housing, 3.6 mm of total travel and 1.5 mm of pre-travel; the maker rates them at about 60 million keystrokes. On force, AULA’s own table prints two numbers side by side, 35 g and 52 g, without saying which is actuation and which is bottom-out, so we quote both as published. In practice this is a light linear switch with an early actuation point. If you want a different feel, every key is hot-swappable and takes three- and five-pin switches.

How long does a charge last, and how do I recharge it?

The battery here is 8,000 mAh. By AULA’s lab measurements that is about 76 hours with the lighting off and about 32 hours with it on — the maker translates this into roughly ten and four days at eight hours of use per day. The keyboard charges in wired mode over the bundled cable, so you can keep using it while it tops up. Real-world results will depend on the backlight brightness and the connection mode you use.

How does the preorder work and when does the keyboard arrive?

This model is sold on preorder. You place a request, a GEEKSHOP manager contacts you and confirms the order together with your chosen case colour — clear white or black. The indicative delivery time is about one month from that confirmation; the manager will give you the exact date and the collection method at the same time.
