One surface for keyboard and mouse
700 mm of length is exactly the size at which a compact keyboard and a mousing zone both fit on one piece of cloth. The keyboard stops drifting across the desk and the mouse never trips over the edge of a second pad. The 300 mm depth leaves room for your wrists in front of the keyboard.
Cloth and 2 mm of thickness
The top is cloth and the whole thing is only 2 mm high. On a large pad that matters: thick bases lift the keyboard and change the wrist angle you are used to, while a two-millimetre sheet feels almost like the desk itself. The mouse still runs on fabric rather than on a lacquered or glass tabletop.
Four warriors in the name
WFFM is not a random string: the pad shows four warriors captioned WIND, FOREST, FIRE and MOUNTAIN, a nod to the classic military maxim — swift as the wind, quiet as the forest, fierce as fire, immovable as a mountain. The masks are spread along the length of the pad, so none of them ends up directly under the mouse.
The stitched edge
On a long pad the edge wears out faster: forearms, the keyboard cable and the lip of the desk rub against it constantly. Here the perimeter is stitched with thread matched to the trim, so the fabric does not start fraying at a corner. The seam is low and does not get in the way when your arm slides off the pad onto the desk.
