Why people pick it

What you get

01

84 keys: compact without the compromises

The HERO 84 HE sits between a 65% board and a full-size one: the numpad is gone, but the function row, the dedicated arrows and the right-hand column with Home, End, PgUp and PgDn all stay. If you game and work at the same desk, that is a well-judged size — the F-keys matter in editors and spreadsheets, and the 10 centimetres freed on the right go to the mouse. With the side panels the case is 322 mm wide, without them 313 mm.

0.01 mm: the key fires where you set it

The sensor reads the magnet position continuously, so the actuation point is not one fixed value but any point within the 3.4 mm travel, in 0.01 mm steps. Rapid Trigger releases the key the moment it starts moving back, without returning to the top. AULA also implements an instant stop: pressing D cancels a held W at any point of travel, which is exactly what counter-strafing needs.

Black King, Dragon King and Jade King

All three switches are magnetic with the same 3.4 ± 0.1 mm of travel and differ only in force. The lightest is Dragon King: 28 gf to actuate and 45 gf to bottom out. Jade King sits in the middle (30 and 48 gf) and Black King is the firmest (33 and 53 gf). The sockets take mixed sets, so you can run light switches under WASD and heavier ones under the modifiers. Which switch you get follows the colourway you pick.

A neon bar with 36 LEDs

A clear light guide with 36 LEDs runs along the top edge of the case, throwing light at the wall or the monitor independently of the key backlight. The keys themselves cover about 16.7 million colours, effects cycle with FN + PgUp, and the web driver lets you assign a colour to every key individually. On the lighter cases in the series the bar stays visible even in daylight.

Five layers and a choice of plate

Under the plate sit PO sandwich foam, a switch base pad, a PET pad, bottom foam and a moulded silicone bottom pad — the stack kills the hollow ring of the case and the metallic spring echo, so typing sounds shorter and denser. AULA builds the positioning plate itself in three versions: aluminium alloy, carbon fibre and gold-plated FR4, which sound different, from brighter to more muted. The assembly weighs about 799 g, so the board stays put on the desk.

Four colourways, three switches

You can order the white-and-purple build with ordinary top legends, white CONTOUR with its contour-line pattern, and pink and purple gradients with side-engraved keycaps. The switch follows the colourway: Black King on the white-purple and CONTOUR builds, Dragon King on the pink gradient, Jade King on the purple one. The force difference is small — 28 to 33 gf to actuate — so you can choose on looks.

Questions

The short answers.

When is delivery expected?

Delivery is expected on 18 November 2026. A pre-order locks the price and your place in the batch; GEEKSHOP confirms the exact date.

How does the HERO 84 HE differ from the HERO 68 HE?

They are the same kind of keyboard in two sizes. The HERO 68 HE is a 65% board with 68 keys and neither a numpad nor a function row. The HERO 84 HE is 80% with 84 keys — the function row is there, a right-hand column with Home, End, PgUp and PgDn is added, and the case is deeper (138.95 mm against 119.86 mm). The neon bar carries 36 LEDs instead of 32. The electronics are shared: 8,000 Hz polling, scanning up to 128 kHz, 0.01 mm adjustment steps and the same King-series magnetic switches.

Do I need to install software to set the actuation point?

No installation is needed: AULA uses a web driver that opens on the manufacturer's site while the keyboard is connected by cable. There you set the actuation and reset points in 0.01 mm steps, Rapid Trigger, instant stop, key remapping, macros and the colour of each key. Lighting effects also cycle from the keyboard itself with FN + PgUp, no computer required.

Can I swap the switches and keycaps?

Yes — the switches sit in sockets and come out without soldering, and AULA explicitly states mixed-switch support, so one board can combine Black King, Dragon King and Jade King, for example lighter ones under WASD. One important caveat: only Hall-effect magnetic switches fit. Ordinary Cherry-compatible mechanical switches will not work in this case, because the PCB reads the magnet position rather than a closing contact. Keycaps with a standard MX stem come off with a puller and can be changed freely.

This is a preorder — when will the keyboard arrive?

The HERO 84 HE is sold on preorder. Delivery takes about a month from the moment a GEEKSHOP manager confirms the order: the colourway and the switch are agreed first, then the batch is ordered from AULA and shipped to Uzbekistan. The manager will contact you, confirm the build you chose and give an approximate date when the keyboard reaches the warehouse.
