A ledge your thumb can sit on
A wide shelf sticks out on the left of the F815, so the thumb rests on it instead of holding the mouse up. Over long sessions that tires the hand noticeably less, and it also makes lifting and replacing the mouse on the pad more confident during sharp movements. The side buttons sit directly above the rest and can be pressed without changing grip.
From 1,200 to 12,800 DPI
Six sensitivity steps cover different scenarios: the lower ones for aiming in shooters and careful work with graphics, the upper ones for fast turns and for 2K and 4K monitors where the cursor has more pixels to cross. The step changes with the key on the top panel, without leaving the game.
Three lighting zones
The ring around the scroll wheel, the AULA logo on the palm area and the line at the base of the shell all light up. By day the mouse looks like a calm matte black block; in the evening the lighting makes it a visible part of the setup. It runs off the same USB cable, so there is nothing extra to plug in.
A cable instead of charging
The F815 is a wired model, and for an inexpensive mouse that is a plus: there is no battery to top up before a session, no receiver to re-pair and no extra cell weight. It draws power from the USB port and is ready the moment it is plugged in, including on a machine with no drivers installed.
