Why people pick it

What you get

01

One knob, two modes

The large metal knob in the top right corner replaces several hotkeys at once. In game mode, which is on by default, turning it raises or lowers the backlight brightness smoothly, and a short press steps through the effects — steady, breathing and heartbeat. A long press moves the knob into multimedia mode: now turning it changes system volume and pressing it mutes everything. Three separate keys sit next to it — previous track, play/pause and next.

02

A metal panel with floating keys

The top of the case is sandblasted metal: a matte surface that does not slip under the palm and does not flex under hard presses. The ABS keycaps float above the plate, so light escapes around every key and dust or crumbs wipe off the open base in one pass. The caps are double-injection moulded, so the legends do not wear away with the paint.

03

Stepped rows under your fingers

The key rows are set at different heights: lower at the bottom, higher at the top. That stepped profile helps you find the right row blind and reduces hand fatigue in long sessions — the fingers do not have to reach up from a flat plane. The full-size layout with a number pad still stays familiar, so there is nothing to relearn.

26 keys and software setup

Simultaneous presses are resolved without conflicts across 26 keys — enough for movement, modifiers and quick slots together. The USB plug is nickel-plated and the maker specifically mentions interference protection. For anyone who wants more than keyboard shortcuts, AULA offers its own software: macros, colour effects, lighting speed and brightness are set there and stored in a profile.

Questions

The short answers.

When is delivery expected?

Delivery is expected on 18 November 2026. A pre-order locks the price and your place in the batch; GEEKSHOP confirms the exact date.

Is this a mechanical keyboard?

No. AULA calls the F2028 a multimedia membrane keyboard. What sets it apart from an office board is the metal panel, the floating ABS caps and the stepped row profile, but the switches are membrane and are not swappable. The press is softer and quieter than on a mechanical board.

What exactly does the knob do?

In game mode (on by default) turning the knob sets backlight brightness and a short press changes the effect — steady, breathing or heartbeat. A long press switches to multimedia mode, where turning controls volume and a short press mutes. The three keys beside it handle previous track, pause and next track.

Does any software need to be installed?

Not for normal use: the system recognises the keyboard immediately, and the knob, media keys and lighting are driven from the board itself. AULA's software is only needed for macros and fine-tuning the effects; the "F2028 RGB Manual" is published in the Downloads section of AULA's site.

How is the preorder placed?

The model ships on preorder: you place a request, the GEEKSHOP manager confirms it and adds the item to the next shipment. After the order is confirmed, delivery takes about a month; the manager gives exact dates when the order is placed.
